Children's Music
"My Bodyworks is one of the most clever and entertaining concept albums ever written for children. Using a variety of musical styles and engaging lyrics, the album is not only fun to sing along with but teaches children about their bodies, from bones to hair to even having gas! It is highly recommended for the whole family.”
- Kids Radio Mania, Des Moines, Iowa
Steven Schoenberg began writing children’s songs in 1976 for Sesame Street and scoring animations for 3-2-1 Contact, both produced by the Children’s Television Workshop. In the 1990s, Steven scored films for Zoom, produced by WGBH-TV in Boston. He wrote and produced the music for the songs in My Bodyworks (Crocodile Books), a book and CD written by his wife, Jane Schoenberg. www.learnwithabeat.com. My Bodyworks received a 2005 Parents’ Choice Recommended award, the 2005 Children's Music Web Award for Best Educational Recording for Young Children, and a 2006 Outstanding Science Trade Books selection from the National Science Teachers Association/Children’s Book Council. This is the first time a book of songs has earned a place on the NSTA/CBC list.
In 2008, along with Jane and Robert Marshall, Steven produced
Kid Quest, a children’s television show.
Kid Quest garnered a Parents’ Choice Gold Award in Television and received two New England Emmy Awards for best Children’s Program and Best Director.
